Tasting Notes

Color Bright ruby red with garnet-like reflections.
Intense and spicy aromas with balsamic notes and hints of red fruits.
Taste Enveloping and persistent with spicy notes of pepper and cherry jam, fine tannins.

Characteristics of the production area

Origin Vineyards located in the hamlet of Bonfigliara and Ricci in the municipality of Ranzo.
Soil type Medium-textured calcareous soil with a prevalence of clay.
Altitude and exposure From 400 to 500 m above sea level. Southern exposure.

Vinification and refinement

Harvest The bunches are hand - picked and selected according to the right degree of ripeness, then carefully arranged in crates.
Vinification Maceration on the skins for approximately 10 days, with frequent pumping over in steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation takes place.
Aged 12 months on the fine lees and 20% rests in second and third passage Barrique. Rest in bottle for 6 months.
